... and we're back.

On June 4, 2011, my web host, Midphase, had a major meltdown. Their data center had a power outage and somehow fried “esc175,” the server that is home to my websites. Better still, all their backups were corrupted. So much for their promise of redundancy. They managed to get the server and my email system back a few days later.

I decided this would be a good opportunity to update the site — it was in need of a little spiffing up.

I’m still working on hermanncomm.com. . . that site’s getting a major facelift and should be up and running in the next 2-3 weeks.

For my trouble, Midphase is tacking six-months of free hosting services on to my contract. Sounds fair, right? It’s worth $41.70.
