More Good News About Yogurt

YogurtI’m a big yogurt fan, so I was thrilled to read that yogurt sales are up over 33% in the past year, according to SPINSscan, a division of the ACNielsen market research firm. Yogurt is a great multi-tasker “it’s a filling mid-afternoon snack, especially when mixed with chopped nuts and frozen berries”; it makes a great dip base in place of sour cream; and it can sub for some of the fat in muffin and quick bread recipes. And although I long for the Altadena frozen yogurt of my college days at UCLA, I’m thrilled that we’ve moved away from super-sweet and into more tart brands like Pinkberry.
